Each system has exactly one derelict freighter encounter with a fixed layout and tier of module reward at the end. As mentioned you can repeatedly use beacons in the same system to redo the same derelict (no need for reload etc). There's 7 different modules in total.Leave the space station and consume the distress signal charts you bought from the cartographer. Ignore everything except for scans that reveal Distress Beacons or Distress Signals. Results to ignore would be abandoned buildings, freighter crash, etc. Note: Sometimes you get unlucky and find a lifeform next to the crashed ship.
