Basically, legacy MCX was shipped black anodized, but demo units were shown tanodized. All upper conversion kits are black anodized. All LE/Mil guns are black anodized unless special ordered in whatever color the contract requires (the Berlin guns come to mind). I sold the legacy upper and I am now using the virtus upper on teh legacy lower. I already have a virtus in 556 so I would be swapping the upper at the range for fun. Never shot 300blk before guess it makes sense to feel like 762x39 since it's pretty similar. My PWS in 762x39 has a lot of recoil compared to my 223 one. MCX has adjustable gas block so should be easy to manage like the PWS.

I think 6.75" is the best all round size for MCX .300B. It's only slightly longer than the Rattler, but better ballistics. Now a high quality AR-15 in 5.56 from one of the big manufacturers is fool proof reliable. MCXs in .300 blackout are definitely not. A couple tips for MCX and .300 Blackout to save frustration: 1.
