I did some looking and it seems the case and the M8 cleaning rod are not inclusive to the M1 carbine. Here is a 1944 marked case I have. Marked P.M.&S.CO 1944. No markings on the aluminum T handle. Here is a case marked Fungus Proofed - Type 1. J C (or G) BIRCK CLNG CO Inc_1945. The T handle is marked C & S Tool Co. With possibly a drawing number.To me the mystery and the unknown is part of what makes the M1 carbine so interesting to me. As many others have stated in the past the M1 carbine is probably one of the most if not the most underrated firearm in our history.
