With the exception of the Kimber Camp Guard in 10mm, I have had no issues with any Kimber 1911-based pistol that I have (9mm and .45ACP), the quality is excellent, the caliber correct, and the Kimber Custom II has two features that I liked over the Springfield Armory Ronin, 3-dot sights and a metal trigger. They are definitely better, out of the box, than any Colt Govt, Combat Commander, and Delta Elite 1911's that I have ever owned. But, there certainly are better 1911's than Colt or Kimber.

May 18, 2008 · i had lots of problems ftf, fte, etc so after about 300 rds i returned it to kimber who put it through the custom shop and reworked the extractor. i also installed the proper wolff spring #32725 after getting the gun back from kimber. since getting the gun back, i have put through about 300 rds of sellier & bellot 230g fmj with no problems. To test it, I swapped barrels with my 10mm Stainless II and the result was the same with the Stainless II barrel in the Raptor slide. The Raptor barrel in the Stainless II slide with the same mag chambered just fine by racking the slide. I’d never fire it like this but manually working the slide it operated.
