Aug 17, 2017 · Single-Sixer. Well, the sights on the EC9s are machined into the top of the slide and therefore are fixed making it cheaper to manufacture. Both the LC9s and EC9s list the finish as "Black Oxide". I suspect the slide is polished a bit more before the finish is applied but I'm just guessing. So, other than the sights they are the same pistol. Being a much more improved version of the LC9, it is safer to choose the Essential Compact 9 mm. However, I might hold back on the newest model and opt for one of the turquoise-colored variety. It is also much cheaper than the outdated LC9. So for those reasons, I would choose the EC9.
