Dilated 2 cm at 36 weeks pregnant.

Just curious at my 36 week appointment last Friday I was 1/2 cm dilated. Should I be expecting my girl to come early? I haven't any had signs of labor/braxton hicks. I still haven't lost my mucus plug. As far as I am concerned she's staying put. Just wondering if anyone else has had this kind of experience?
